Daycare

Below are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. If you still have questions, please feel free to contact us.

How will I know if doggy daycare is a good fit for my pet?

We carefully assess each dog during our New Dog Evaluation Day. This day is all about your dog! One of our trainers will spend the entire day with your dog, learning about their unique characteristics, disposition, and play style. We’ll introduce other friendly and social dogs and assess each interaction to determine the best playmates and group environment for your dog. The day will include nap time and a bath before pick-up. At the end of the day, we’ll meet with you to discuss how the day went and what we recommend for future visits.

What are your vaccination requirements?

For each pet's health and safety, we require all dogs to be current on the following vaccinations and have the records on file with Walks and Wags prior to arrival:

  • Bordatella Intranasal (Canine cough)
  • DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Para influenza, Parvo Virus)
  • Rabies (Puppies after 6 months)
  • Leptospirosis (A disease more common in areas with warm climates and high annual rainfall. Dogs are more commonly affected.)
  • For first-time visitors, we also require a negative fecal test taken within the last 30 days. Your DVM may not regularly require this, but it is a Walks and Wags requirement.
  • *Canine Influenza Bivalent Vaccine (highly recommended for the Dog Flu)

*This vaccine is not a requirement, but we highly recommend it since we believe each dog deserves this level of protection.

What are the health requirements for daycare?

All dogs must be in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days will require a veterinarian’s certification of health to be admitted or re-admitted. On admission or readmission, all dogs must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize other guests.

Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?

Yes. The only exceptions are if your puppy is between the ages of 4–9 months-old.

How old does my dog need to be to attend daycare?

Daycare is for dogs 16 weeks and older. We offer our Puppy Academy for pups between 8 and 16 weeks old, which helps them learn important social cues and the confidence to successfully join the daycare group.

What is your daycare cancellation policy?

Cancellations for boarding or daycare with less than 24-hour advanced notice will be charged the full fees. New Dog Evaluation fees are paid in advance and there are no refunds for cancellations.

Can you help get my dog to daycare?

Yes! We know our dog parents are busy. That’s why we offer our Pet Taxi service for easy pick up and drop off. We can also come to your car during drop-off to make the process quick and easy, getting you on your way for your busy day!

Can I schedule a bath for my dog while he/she is in daycare?

Yes! You can schedule more than one service while your dog is with us whether at daycare or lodging.
